What you’ll do at Thule

In the role of Test Engineer, you will be involved in project testing within our Sports & Cargo categories, contributing to the development of safe, reliable, and high-quality products. You will plan and execute project testing according to defined test plans, internal standards, and external customer or regulatory requirements.

As the dedicated Test Engineer in selected projects, you will be responsible for defining test plans and coordinating and executing tests throughout the development process. Your work will span a wide range of test areas, including static, environmental, dynamic, user, driving, and misuse testing, as well as verification against standards and legal requirements. A key part of your role will be translating standards into practical, relevant test methods that reflect real customer usage scenarios.

You will work closely with project managers and global project teams, supporting product development with results and analysis from both laboratory and field tests. Through test method development and evaluation of results, you will contribute to continuous improvements and support design decisions based on solid data and insights.

In addition, you will plan and carry out ongoing maintenance of test and support equipment, document test results in test reports and other relevant documentation, and support the R&D and Quality organizations with testing and evaluations related to claim cases. 

 

What you bring

To be successful in this role, we believe you have a Bachelor’s or Master´s degree in Engineering or a similar field, along with experience in mechanical and/or material testing. Experience within areas such as mechatronics, electronic testing, or product development is highly valued.

You have a technical interest and a curious mindset, enjoying the process of investigating, testing, and understanding how products perform in real-world conditions. Experience in fabric and soft goods material testing, standards and compliance work, or from the automotive industry is considered an advantage, as is experience working in structured product development environments.

As a person, you are a team player who thrives in hands-on environments and enjoys combining practical work with analytical thinking. You are structured, adaptable, and comfortable working in changing conditions and collaborative settings. You communicate well in English, both written and spoken. A driving license for forklift and traverse crane is considered an advantage.
