Thule Sweden AB, Hillerstorp

Bring your life

Do you thrive at the intersection of product innovation and global safety standards? Are you excited by the challenge of ensuring products are safe, compliant, and ready to inspire confidence worldwide? If you’re a structured, proactive problem-solver who enjoys everything from regulatory analysis to hands-on testing, then you may be the person we’re looking for.

Join our Global Product Development Department – home to over 250 highly skilled engineers – where cross-functional collaboration, sustainability, and innovation guide our every step. This role is based at our R&D Center in Hillerstorp, Sweden, equipped with state-of-the-art labs and creative engineering environments.

What you’ll do at Thule

As a Product Compliance Engineer, you will be involved throughout the full product development cycle – from early concept to product launch – ensuring that our solutions meet all relevant safety and compliance requirements across global markets.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Translating international safety standards and regulations into practical internal test protocols and design requirements
  • Participating in and leading structured product risk assessments during development
  • Supporting engineering teams with compliance input from the very first idea onward
  • Collaborating with internal and external test labs, as well as certification bodies, to verify product performance – and being ready to perform and support tests yourself when needed
  • Creating, maintaining, and organizing compliance documentation that ensures full traceability across the product lifecycle
  • Staying updated on regulatory changes and aligning internal processes accordingly
  • Representing Thule in national and international standardization forums
  • Conducting internal training sessions and sharing compliance insights across teams
  • Contributing to the development of clear, user-facing safety information
  • Ensuring that our products meet the highest expectations of safety, quality, and global readiness

Your work will directly impact user safety and trust – making sure every product we release is safe, thoroughly tested, and fully compliant, regardless of where or how it's used.

What drives success in this role

At Thule, we put safety first – always. You should quite literally wake up thinking about it. In this role, your mindset and drive to ensure our products are safe, compliant, and globally trusted will be essential to everything you do.

We also believe your curiosity for how our products work, how they are used, and how they can be improved is one of the most important qualifications. A genuine interest in the product is a key enabler for success in this role.

What you bring

We welcome applications from candidates with different levels of experience – whether you're early in your career or already well-versed in compliance work. Most important is that you bring the right mindset, energy, and attention to detail.

You likely bring:

  • A university degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomechanics, or another relevant technical field
  • A high level of curiosity and engagement in how our products are used – and how they can be made even safer
  • A structured, analytical approach with strong attention to detail
  • A proactive mindset and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Hands-on attitude and readiness to support or perform physical testing as needed
  • The drive to consistently challenge and improve safety across our entire product portfolio
  • Fluency in English; Swedish is a plus

Why you should join Thule

This is a role where compliance meets creativity – and regulatory thinking meets hands-on product testing. You’ll gain visibility across the entire organization and develop deep technical expertise in an area that's becoming increasingly important across industries.

At Thule, compliance is not just about meeting requirements – it’s about designing for safety, performance, and trust from the ground up.

You’ll be involved throughout the development journey – from first ideas to finished products – ensuring your work is both varied and meaningful. We offer a supportive environment with mentorship from experienced colleagues and opportunities for professional growth in an international setting.

We value teamwork, openness, and curiosity – and we believe in building great products while having fun together.
