Do you want to make a real impact by shaping the future of sustainable product design in a global company known for its high-quality, innovative products? Then this role is something for you!
Under our motto Bring your Life, we design, manufacture, and market products that combine functionality, innovation, and sustainability. This role offers the opportunity to work across Thule’s full product range. From our iconic carriers and racks to bags, backpacks, and gear designed for everyday adventures.
At Thule, sustainability is a core value guiding every part of our business. We are proud to have been recognized among the world’s top 50 most sustainable companies in Morningstar Sustainalytics' 2025 ESG Top-Rated Companies ranking. Innovation and design excellence are deeply rooted in our DNA, reflected in the multiple Red Dot Design Awards our products have received over the years.
In the role as Eco Design & LCA Expert, you will play a key role in embedding life cycle thinking and sustainable design principles into the heart of product development at Thule. From early concept to finished product, your work will guide teams toward more environmentally conscious choices that reduce the overall footprint and contribute to Thule reaching our long-term climate and environmental targets.
You will be responsible for conducting and developing life cycle analyses (LCA), maintaining and refining our LCA tools and methods, and translating your findings into clear recommendations that inspire change. By collaborating closely with colleagues in product development, production, supply chain, and procurement, you will help ensure that eco-design becomes a natural part of how we innovate, across all our product categories.
In addition, you will act as an ambassador for sustainable design within the organization by sharing knowledge, training teams, and supporting projects with data-driven insights on materials, processes, and design strategies. You will help Thule lead in sustainable and innovative product design by staying on top of trends, customer expectations, and regulations.
This role reports to the Sustainability Director and is based in either Hillerstorp or Malmö.
To succeed in this role, we believe you have hands-on experience in life cycle assessment and eco-design within a product or manufacturing company. Ideally one with a mix of material types or product categories, where experience with textile materials is considered an advantage. You combine a structured, analytical mindset with a practical approach, turning complex data into clear actions that make a difference.
You likely hold a university degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field, and are proficient in English, which is our corporate language. Experience with sustainability frameworks such as ISO 14001, ISO 14044, and the ESPR, as well as eco-design tools and software like Ecochain or One Click LCA, is valuable.
Above all, we are looking for a curious and open-minded team player who enjoys problem-solving and wants to contribute to meaningful progress. At Thule, we welcome diverse perspectives and backgrounds, because we believe they make us stronger, more innovative, and more connected to the people who use our products every day.
At Thule, we believe in strong teamwork both within your own team but also across functions. We strive to be an open and curious organization, sharing our knowledge and inspiring one another.
Within Thule you will find people who have a passion for the products we make and the outdoor company we are. We share the same values, and we like to have fun. All of our employees have a joint responsibility to maintain that spirit and contribute to it.
