Bring your life

At Thule, we’re passionate about designing smart, functional, and sustainable products that support an active lifestyle. As we continue to grow our bags and soft goods portfolio, we’re now looking for an experienced Industrial Designer – Bags & Textile to join our Design team in Hillerstorp.

If you’re a hands-on industrial designer who thrives throughout the entire design process, from early concept and pre-study to implementation and final production, this is an exciting opportunity to shape the next generation of Thule bags, backpacks, travel gear, and more.

What you’ll do at Thule

In the role as Industrial Designer – Bags & Textile, you’ll work across a broad product range, including backpacks, travel luggage, hydration packs, and bike panniers. You’ll play an integral part in the full product development cycle, starting with identifying user needs and market opportunities, generating and visualizing concepts, and continuing all the way to detailed design, prototyping, and supporting implementation in production.

You’ll collaborate closely with product managers, project leaders, CMF specialists, engineers, and other designers to create solutions that are functional, durable, and aligned with Thule’s brand and sustainability values. Your work will blend creative exploration with technical understanding, from selecting the right materials and components to iterating prototypes based on testing and feedback.

Staying informed about emerging trends, materials, and user behaviors is an important part of your role, and you’ll contribute to both our day-to-day projects and long-term innovation roadmap. You’ll also help ensure a consistent brand experience across product lines, while leaving room for fresh ideas and differentiation.

This is a collaborative and practical role where your design skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving mindset will directly influence the products we bring to market.

What you bring

To be successful in this role, we believe that you have a degree in industrial design, textile design, or product development, paired with solid experience in designing soft goods - ideally for high-volume consumer products.

You have a strong understanding of materials, construction techniques, and how to create products that are both visually appealing and highly functional. You enjoy working hands-on with both digital tools and physical prototypes, and you're comfortable translating early concepts into detailed designs ready for production.

Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, SolidWorks, and tools like Clo 3D is valuable, as is experience working cross-functionally with engineering and manufacturing teams. You’re curious, collaborative, and motivated by creating user-centered products that meet high standards for quality, performance, and sustainability.

Why you should join Thule

At Thule, we believe in strong teamwork both within your own team and also cross functional between teams. We strive to be an open and curious organization, sharing our knowledge and inspiring one another. Within Thule Group you will find people who have a passion for the products we make and the outdoor company we are. We share the same values, and we like to have fun. All of our employees have a joint responsibility to maintain that spirit and contribute to it.
